The Antwerp eSports Festival, 2010 edition, is now officially over. With thousands of people following the tournaments online, and hundreds actually travelling down to Antwerp, the event was a great success. Not only were we able to reach a wide variety gaming audience, the mainstream was also informed about the event through the interviews which were published in all national papers, several magazines and the interviews we had on the national news and some radio stations.

With players and teams ecstatic about the way the event went down we can only look towards the future and our 2011 event and make sure that once again the event will go down as the most competitive tournament of the Benelux.

With the Antwerp eSports Festival just around the corner the time has come to release a bit more information about the event schedule and some side activities on site.

First of all we would like to point out that the final tournament schedules, seedings and groups will be released shortly on this website. The groups of Call of Duty 4 have already been released on our partner website TEK9 and can be found here.
We would like to point out that the scheduled starting time of the event is set at 08:00 AM !

AEF Shop by SteelSeries

In cooperation with SteelSeries, we will be opening up a shop at the event that can be found near the entrance. At this shop we will be selling various gaming peripherals, many at discount price. The full list of the products and prices can be found here:










































As you can see it also includes limited edition items and the new 7H headset which has just been released and can only be described as one of the best gaming headsets out there. Beware that some items only have a limited stock available so if you want one you need to be fast! You can reserve an item by sending an email to steven [ a-t ] gamevibes.be mentioning the item you would like to reserve, your name and when you will be picking it up.

Opening party

On Friday we will also be hosting an opening party for all the players, press and several VIP's. Starting from 18:00 CET, DJ Airforce will be playing his tunes, followed straight after that by DJ ESP (Resident DJ from one of the biggest clubs in Belgium, Versuz). The party will go on until 01:00 AM, which means that even the teams who need to play on Friday evening will have the time to enjoy the music and a couple of drinks at the party.

We will be serving alcoholical beverages throughout the entire Antwerp eSports Festival and we will also have a special Belgian Beer corner in cooperation with Alken-Maes where you will be able to find a wide selection of specialty beers from Belgium.

ENTRY FOR SPECTATORS IS FREE!

On Friday we will have Benelux gamebabe Charlotte Van Brabander coming down for a shootout where everyone can play against her and win some prizes. The shootout kicks off from 15 CET.

On Saturday you can see a wonderful show from the guys of the Electronic Sports League as they bring you a full day of matches, prize giveaways and much more. Cheer on your favorite team as it will be a battle of Belgium vs Netherlands!

Sunday is all about the finals of the Call of Duty 4 and Enemy Territory competition as we see the final teams battle it our for first place.

We would like to inform all the teams that have signed up for one of the 16 new Call of Duty 4 slots that they have until Tuesday evening 20:00 CET to pay for their entry. If  by then we have not yet received a proof of payment we will then proceed to remove the team from the list so other teams can take their place.

We are quite confident that we will be able to fill up the remaining 16 slots making the Antwerp eSports Festival the biggest and most competitive Call of Duty 4 tournament in history, with a whopping 64 teams in attendance.

We would also like to mention that due to this increase in teams, the prize money for the event will also go up. This means that if another 8 teams pay their entry fee, €2,000 will be added to the prize pool and with 16 teams paid this is bumped up to an extra €4,000, making the overall prize money for this event a staggering €14,000 !
