Asus and the ENC

What is the European Nations Championship?

The European Nations Championship is an eSports tournament presented by Electronic Sports League in its fifth year now. The ENC has become an established tourney for all European countries to find the best team in the different games. For each season the ESL tries to get as many European countries as possible to send a team for the hosted games. Even if these team members might play on a high level and in professional leagues it is something completely different to play in a national team. You play not for yourself but for your home country and it's an honor for everybody to represent his own country.

Asus and the Antwerp eSports Festival?

The partnership with ASUS and Microsoft ensures the organizers that the tournament will be equipped with the best possible hard- and software and that besides the official tournaments other activities will be held to entertain and captivate spectators and attending players.

"We are very happy to announce this partnership with Microsoft and ASUS", explains Steven Leunens, head organizer of the Antwerp eSports Festival. "Both ASUS and Microsoft are household names in the IT industry and their involvement in this event will certainly boost it to the next level. Both companies have shown with their prior commitments to tournaments such as the European Nations Championship that they truly value what gaming is all about and that they are fully committed to nurturing gamers from all over the world. ASUS and Microsoft add a lot of value to the Antwerp eSports Festival and we are confident that this is exactly what the event needed".

Milan Rado, PR Specialist at ASUS had the following to say about the partnership: "We are happy to team up with a great event like the Antwerp eSports Festival and with that bring the ESL’s European Nations Championship to Antwerp. Both ASUS and Microsoft are fully committed to the gaming communities and with this partnership we hope to bring the next level of competition to the gamers in the Benelux."

What is eSports?

It is an acronym for electronic sports. This refers to the competitive aspects of computer game tournaments. Players train hours after hours to become the best in their game. The European Nations Championship is the playground for all nations' best gamers. Star players have thousands of fans all over the world who support their team and follow every match they play.

How Can I Take Part?

First of all you have to be at least 12 years old to participate in the ENC unless a higher date is requested for the particular game. You are? So you got the first step to take part. As you see all countries and their teams are presented on this page (to be announced). In there you can find the Team Manager of each country. He is the one to contact if you want to ask for a spot in your team. But remember that every participant has to have a passport of the country he wants to play for. If your country doesn't have a Team Manager yet you can apply as soon as possible for this position on the ENC site at your national team. So you might be the next one in a news like this.

What Else is Happening at ESL?

Electronic Sports League offers leagues for all kinds of games and gamers. From games that you can download for free to full price PC games you will find a league for everything you ever wanted. Compete for points, become leader of the ranking and earn virtual medals. You can start up teams with fellow gamers and join the team leagues. Lots of cups, ladders and premierships will guarantee plenty of fun for everyone.

European Nations Championship Coverage

On the ENC press page you can find plenty of information about the tourney, top matches and other important things. Also you can find your country's coverage websites that keep you informed about the state of your team in your native language. Most of the top matches will also be broadcast live by ESL TV. ESL TV offers two separate channels. On ESL TV, accessable via webstream, you can watch selected games. You will find full coverage at ESL TV. This IP-TV channel is streaming with 1 MBit bandwidth as well as a 400 Kbit Freestream.

How Else Can I Watch the Games?
